Members of Moshav Matityahu live in single-family houses on large parcels of land. The government constructed the initial housing units on the Moshav in the 1980s. Additional houses were constructed during a project in the 1990s. As these houses were rather small, most families have extended their homes, sometimes very substantially. Additionally, between 2000 and 2008, a number of families purchased empty lots on which to build their own houses (known in Israel as "B'neh Betcha").
Current status of new housing availability: There is no current availability of new or second-hand housing. Matityahu is currently working on plans to embark on a centralized building project of approximately 18 new two-family units which are expected to be up for sale at some point in 2008 and, G-d willing, are expected to be completed during 2009-10. More information about this project will be available on this Web site when available.
